Humanity has weathered the storm in 2020; how do you find the light at the end of the tunnel in 2021?

The future is better, faster, more transparent than you think, the home stretch is still dark and not out of the woods yet, and there’s all the hope you can have.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”― Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

There’s a balance in everything; when something wrong happens, people either bounce back more potent for good or don’t. It’s all in the mind how things, people, and situations are perceived and addressed. The mindset and attitude are to be aware at all times.

  • Are you aware of the bad things? Do you fight or flee?
  • Are you aware of the good things? Do you fight or flee?
  • Fight or flee decision; should your response be evaluated?
  • What tools can you use to help your decisions?

Scientifically, when people are in a situation of bad things, they choose to fight or flee. If bad situations happen often and long enough, it becomes a habit to be in the Fight or Flight Response mindset.

If you get into a short circuit habit, it’s not going to help you in a game of chess against more challenging situations.

We have to expect another COVID19-type pandemic or worse, and we won't be as stupid next time. We’ve gotten through what could have been the worst management of the virus with the plentiful resources we have.

Humanity, as a whole, did not manage the virus to its full potential.

Crippled leadership on the other side of the world did not affect how New Zealand handled the pandemic and went back to a mostly average national production. China had taken their pandemic very well and jumped back into a robust economic production.

As we go into 2021, we cannot just sweep 2020 events under the rug and forget about them. There are good and bad things that came out of 2020 that we will need in the next 100 years.

The mindset we have developed in responses to 2020’s events have given us wisdom every day from its experiences. Every day we move into the future, we are adapting together, evolving humanity as a whole.

Negative situations in our perceived minds trigger Fight or Flight Responses.

Every time we look at a negative situation, we need to ask ourselves if this is negative enough to eliminate the possibilities of positive situations that happened or will happen? Is this worth wasting my time and energy over it? How far are we willing to go to overlook positive conditions? How do we rise through negativity?

Should we look to the positive and make the best of a negative situation? Yes, we always should do that.

2020 was an essential lesson to humanity on a planet. We’ve got to keep our shit together, keep it together with the best we can. We cannot lose our shit and marbles. There is always the light at the end of the tunnel coming.

It’s a personal virtue test of patience.

You got this.
